How Capture the Flag uses your information — and why there's so little of it.
Last updated: June 8, 2026
The short version: Capture the Flag has no accounts and shows no ads. While you play, your GPS location and chosen name are shared in real time with the other players in your match so the game works. That data lives only in the game's memory during a match and is cleared when the match ends. We never sell it.
Capture the Flag ("the App", "we", "us") is a location-based multiplayer game for iPhone. This policy explains what information the App uses, why it's needed, and how it's handled. The game is designed to use as little personal information as possible.
Information is used solely to operate the game: to place players on the map, run the flag, capture, tag, and item mechanics, deliver chat between teammates, and keep a match in sync. We do not use it to build advertising or marketing profiles.
Match data — including player positions — is processed in real time and held only in the game server's memory for the duration of a match. It is not written to a long-term database. When a match ends or is abandoned, that state is automatically cleared. The App does not keep a history of where you have played.
To support multiplayer, the App connects to a game server that relays match data (positions, chat, and game events) between the players in the same game in real time. The server address can be configured in the App's settings, and a match's data is processed transiently to make the game work — it is not persisted long-term. Public servers should be reached over an encrypted (HTTPS/WSS) connection.
Because the App does not create an account or store personal data long-term, there is generally nothing to export or delete. If you have a request or question, contact us using the details below.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please get in touch and we will address it.
We use reasonable measures to protect information in transit, and recommend connecting to game servers over an encrypted connection. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
